Family Summer Vacation time will soon be here. For those of you with children still at home, why not create some great memories for your family this year? Here are a few things you might enjoy in the Omaha and surrounding area:

 

Wander through Lauritzen Gardens – 100 Bancroft St., Omaha

Take in the beauty of nature, whether you visit the indoor tropical gardens with the 10-foot waterfall, or whether you enjoy getting ‘back to nature’ as you visit the lovely outdoor garden displays.

 

Explore Fontenelle Forest – 402 Forest Dr., Bellevue

Enjoy one of the hiking trails or ‘climb, zip, and swing through the trees at Treerush Adventures! Ages four to adult can discover the excitement of aerial adventures and surprises suspended over six acres of forest canopy.

 

Check out Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium – 3701 S. 10th St., Omaha

Rated as the “world’s best zoo”, by TripAdvisor in August 2014, you are certain to NOT be disappointed by all the zoo has to offer. Visit the desert dome, butterfly pavilion, 160 acres of plants, animals, and immersive habitats from around the globe, or the six acres of indoor exhibits.

 

Go to the Omaha Children’s Museum – 500 S. 20th St., Omaha

Plan to spend the whole day exploring all of the exhibits, the art smart center, riding the indoor carousel, investigating the magical science exhibit, and experiencing Jurassic Nebraska.

 

Visit The Durham Museum – 801 S. 10th St., Omaha

Learn about Omaha’s history and how the city has changed throughout the years. Step into the railroad travel’s past as you enter train cars from the ‘40s and ‘50s. Make sure to visit their website: durhammuseum.org for upcoming exhibits information.

 

Go Hiking on one of the Many Local Tiking trails:
